Collect Pull Tabs
A small piece of metal can make a BIG difference! The Pull Tab Program helps to raise necessary funds and awareness for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mid-Missouri through recycling the aluminum tabs at our local recycling company, New World Recycling.
Thanks to kindhearted school kids, businesses, clubs, churches, and families, millions of pull tabs have been donated since the program began. Their on-going efforts continue to help pay for families and children to stay at the House, while their child is receiving medical treatment at the hospital or another medical facility. Your support helps ensure that these families will continue to have a place to rest, relax, and recover close together.
How to Get Started
It’s simple! Pull the tabs from your aluminum cans – soup cans, pet food cans, tennis ball containers, or soda cans – and save them in a container. Encourage your friends and family to participate by placing your collection container in a central location at home, work or school.
When your container is full, you can drop off your tabs at the Ronald McDonald House any day of the week between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. Or, have the tabs (or the entire can) recycled in your community and mail the check, payable to RMHC of Mid-Missouri, to:
Pull Tab Program
3501 Lansing Avenue
Columbia, MO 65201
When mailing your donation, please include your contact information so we may acknowledge your gift. If you or your group would like a tour when you drop off your tabs, please contact us to arrange a date and time.
The Ronald McDonald House has small, reusable pull tab collector houses available. Program participants may request up to 5 free houses. Each house can hold approximately 700 tabs.
Pull Tab Pandemonium
Pull Tab Pandemonium is held each year in the spring. It is an opportunity for groups and individuals around mid-Missouri to visit the Ronald McDonald House and drop off pull tabs collected from aluminum cans, while getting tours of the House, enjoying lunch and games for the kids, and meeting Ronald McDonald himself! This is the perfect event to teach kids how fun and easy it is to recycle and give back to their community! Learn more about the event here:
