How Your Support Makes a Difference

“Our families absolutely love the lunch program! Families are always so thankful and pleasantly surprised when a free meal is offered to them. It is the little things that can make the difference in a family’s stay and this program is one of those things that help families feel supported and cared for while they’re here with us,” said Christina McHenry, BS, CCLS, MU Health Care’s Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

The program started May 10, 2019 with delivery one day per week. We heard from social workers how vital these lunches were, and we increased the delivery to two days per week. “Our girl twin, Scarlett, had a 12-day NICU stay. My husband and I both were thankful for the Lunch on the House program. Between juggling a NICU stay, post-op C-section recovery, and three children under three – all during a Pandemic –  Lunch on the House kept us nourished and gave us extra time with our littlest one,” said Wendy.
