Ronald McDonald House keeps families together when their child needs medical care. Our House is built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on healing their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest. We believe that when a child is sick or injured the love and support of family is critical.
The House provides families with a place to sleep comfortably, eat well, take a shower, do laundry, relax and play and spend time with other families in similar situations. We offer a communal living environment in which all guests share responsibility for keeping our home safe and clean. Each guestroom has two queen beds and a private bathroom. The House welcomes families regardless of income, race, religion, nationality, gender, or abilities.
The Happy Wheels Hospitality Cart delivers smiles and fun to kids and their families at MU Children’s Hospital. The Hospitality Cart offers comfort items, snacks, and activities to families who wait hours at the hospital without leaving the waiting room or their child’s bedside. We would like to thank Veterans United for the grant they gave us to purchase items needed for the cart. Thanks also to the donors who drop off items from our wish list at the House.
The Lunch on the House program alleviates some of the emotional and financial stress that families face while having a child in the hospital. Whether they are unable to leave their child’s bedside or don’t have the funds for a meal, Lunch on the House provides families with something to eat and allows them to give their full attention to their child. We would like to thank The Riley Family for their generous gift that allowed us to launch this program in 2019 and provide lunches each Friday.
I would get so caught up in everything else going on at the hospital that I would forget to eat and take care of myself. This situation could have been way more stressful if I hadn’t had a place to stay at the Ronald McDonald House.

We are so thankful that you opened your doors to us! You all took some of our stress and worry away by providing a place for us to come and relax after long days in the NICU. This charity is truly a blessing to so many families.
